Black seed, otherwise known by its Latin genus-species name Nigella Sativa, has been used for thousands of years as a medicine in West Asia and East Asia. It is most commonly known because the Prophet Muhammad is reported to have said that “black seed is a cure for every disease except death.” Another variation of this narration specifies that both death and poison are exempt from black seed’s healing properties.
